1 Kings 14:22

And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him.

Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?

For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images.

And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD above all that were before him.

They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger. And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the LORD.

Because Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, which were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols:

But hast done evil above all that were before thee: for thou hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast me behind thy back:

And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.

For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.
