1 Samuel 20:24

The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind? with...: Heb. in wickedness?

To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. he goats: Heb. great he goats When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts? to appear: Heb. to be seen Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. iniquity: or, grief Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them. But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth? Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee. When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers. hast...: Heb. thy portion was with Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit. givest: Heb. sendest Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son. These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.
