Hebrews 7:11

For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: elements: or, rudiments

Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. would...: or, they would have ceased to be offered, because, etc. But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: put: Gr. give in: or, upon And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,

But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? turn ye again: or, turn ye back elements: or, rudiments

Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
