Job 23:3

O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleadeth for his neighbour! neighbour: or, friend

Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.

Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said, Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it. Then Job answered the LORD, and said, Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth. Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.

Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.

Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: it was: or, the gospel was

Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire is, that the Almighty would answer me, and that mine adversary had written a book. my...: or, my sign is that the Almighty will Surely I would take it upon my shoulder, and bind it as a crown to me. I would declare unto him the number of my steps; as a prince would I go near unto him.

O LORD, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou it for thy name's sake: for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee.

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. the unrighteous...: Heb. the man of iniquity abundantly...: Heb. multiply to pardon

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. committed...: Gr. put in us Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
