Job 4:5

Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.

For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. and he...: Heb. if he curse thee not to thy face

If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. small: Heb. narrow

But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.

For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. the thing...: Heb. I feared a fear, and it came upon me I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came.

To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend; but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty. is afflicted: Heb. melteth
