Matthew 15:6

It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law.

But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. house: or, kindred

Honour widows that are widows indeed. But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God. piety: or, kindness

And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:

My zeal hath consumed me, because mine enemies have forgotten thy words. consumed...: Heb. cut me off

Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain. in vain made...: or, the false pen of the scribes worketh for falsehood

If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. destroyed: Heb. cut off

For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.
