Proverbs 19:6

A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.

A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it: whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth. a precious...: Heb. a stone of grace

Many seek the ruler's favour; but every man's judgment cometh from the LORD. the ruler's...: Heb. the face of a ruler

A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.

And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour. favour: Heb. face

And say ye moreover, Behold, thy servant Jacob is behind us. For he said, I will appease him with the present that goeth before me, and afterward I will see his face; peradventure he will accept of me. of me: Heb. my face

If I laughed on them, they believed it not; and the light of my countenance they cast not down. I chose out their way, and sat chief, and dwelt as a king in the army, as one that comforteth the mourners.

In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain.

And the men took that present, and they took double money in their hand, and Benjamin; and rose up, and went down to Egypt, and stood before Joseph.

The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
