Psalms 10:1

[To the chief Musician upon Aijeleth Shahar, A Psalm of David.] My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? Aijeleth...: or, the hind of the morning helping...: Heb. my salvation

LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled. made...: Heb. settled strength for my mountain

O the hope of Israel, the saviour thereof in time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tarry for a night?

LORD, why castest thou off my soul? why hidest thou thy face from me?

When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:

Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for thine enemy?

On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:

Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?

[To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.] How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me? chief...: or, overseer How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me? Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
