Psalms 58:1

[To the chief Musician, Altaschith, Michtam of David, when he fled from Saul in the cave.] Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. So I took the chief of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among your tribes. made: Heb. gave And I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.

[A Psalm for Solomon.] Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son. for: or, of He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment. When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:

Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.

So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel.

And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment. in...: Heb. in the matter of judgment Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
