Psalms 9:9

Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. safe: Heb. set aloft

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. abide: Heb. lodge I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land. great: Heb. heavy

I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul. I looked...: or, Look on the right hand, and see failed...: Heb. perished from me cared...: Heb. sought after

And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence. upon all: or, above all defence: Heb. covering And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.

The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. my strength: Heb. my rock

Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

God is known in her palaces for a refuge.
